Use Your Stash Challenge!!

You have one week to accept this Challenge and post your link. Free stamp set to be given away for winner picked out of a hat. Stamp set will be posted by Wed at the latest. This is my own Use Your Stash Challenge -- Lots of retired DSP and accents. More pages to come.

Everything is retired except I used the Big Shot and the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet (page 202). As you can see they are the perfect size for Scrapbook pages and for $74.95 you can have unlimited letters and numbers for as long as you have cardtock or DSP. A great investment.

Nursery Suite

Back as promised, this is a scrapbook page I made using Nursery Suite Specialty DSP (page 172) and Nursery Suite Quick Accents (page 176). I started with the 5x7 picture on the left and mounted it on Regal Rose then Early Espresso. The yellow strip across the bottom is from the Quick Accents as is the scallop accent. The two smaller pictures are mounted on Regal Rose cardstock. They seemed to be floating out there, I guess b/c of stripes. So I used the Top Note Die and Big Shot (page 207) and cut it apart to ground the pics. The two small Top note accents are Quick Accents as well. The empty space between the pics and below the big pic, I'm leaving empty for her Mom to fill.

Criss Cross Thank you

This a a criss cross card, you can see them everywhere. But this is made using the Big Shot and the Pennant die. I cut two small pennants using the Holiday Treasures DSP, you get scallops also. Layered the two pennant on a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 Old Olive base. Glue the folds to the card base and a strip across the bottom. Then I cut a Choc Chip piece to fit inside 3 5/8 x 5, used the Round tab punch for the little tab. Wrapped a piece of Wide Choc Chip grosgrain, then used one of the scallops and then stamped the sentiment from Say it with Scallops in Versamark and embossed with white. Punched it out using the square scallop punch.

Sock Monkey for Christmas

Here is my card using the same Ski Slope DSP but using the Sock Monkey set instead of Winter Post. Card base is standard size in Old Olive, topped with Riding Hood Red and the Striped DSP is of course Ski Slope. I stamped the Sock monkey on Confetti White in Choc Chip, I stamped him again on the brown and again on the red (Ski Slope DSP) and then paper pieced him. Did a soft wash of the Baha Breeze and Creamy Caramel, which may not show well in the picture but it does give the image some definition. The monkey is layered on Baha Breeze and Riding Hood Red. I stamped the Merry Christmas from the All Holidays set on Confetti White and layered on Riding Hood Red after punching both with the Wide Oval punch. A bit of Riding Hood Red striped grosgrain makes the perfect touch.

My creation

Now the card base is Riding Hood Red, followed by a layer of Baha Breeze cs with the edges sponnged with Baha Breeze ink. Next up is the really pretty Ski Slope DSP. Then I stamped 3 snowflakes and embossed them with clear embossing powder, then I trimmed around them. Popped the center Snowflake up using dimensionals. Stamped the sentiment from Heard from the Heart, I had to stamp each part seperately b/c the sentiment is much longer than the Wide oval punch. (it would have been much straighter if I had used the Stamp-a-ma-jig) And as I am trying to use all of my new stuff, I wanted to use it. Punched two Choc Chip ovals and offset them for contrast. Placed all of this on a piece of Riding Hood Red cs and then a layer of Choc Chip cs. A little piece of Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain and Voila!! Done, This card was totally inspired by the other two cards. You may say they don't look anything alike, no but the colors which all of course come from the gorgeous Ski Slope DSP are perfect.

Next up

Well I was still feeling the Ski Slope DSP, it really is very prettyyyyy.. Drrrrooooolllll! :) As well as the Winter Post set.

So I was looking in my pics, When I see a card or something I really like I save it. There I found this cute card by MicheleTX - sorry don't remember where I got the pic. But here is my take on it.

The base again is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", Choc. Chip cs again, topped with Baha Breeze cs. I did faux tearing to the left side as she did, using Baha Breeze ink and Sponge, also sponged around edges of cardstock. Then I stamped ( with faux tearing cs still in place) using Baha Breeze and the Sanded background stamp. Then i used the snowflake stamp from Winter Post on the left side of the card with Baha Breeze ink. Then stamped the postage stamp in Choc Chip ink to the top right. A little strip of Choc Chip with some tearing for texture and then a strip of DSP Ski Slope, Scalloped Edge on the bottom of it.

Focal image stamped in Choc Chip on Whisper White cs, colored with Watercolor Pencils which is a much softer look. Layered on a square of Choc Chip cs. Then the Do Not Open until Dec 25 stamped in Riding Hood Red, removed all but writing then colored with Choc Chip marker and punched out using the Designer Label punch.

Now after recreating these two works of art by Beate and MicheleTX, I was inspired to create my own card - up next.

Inspiration???

You may ask where do you get your ideas, or say I don't want to copy something that someone else did. That is the perfect way to fire up your own creativity. Here is a recent example.

I absolutely love just about everything that Beate makes, seriously LOVE!!! So I was all set to CASE (copy and steal everything) THIS. CASEing is fine as long as you don't take credit for the idea. So I did and here is my version, minus the Old Olive grosgrain ribbon and I colored with the Aquapainter instead of Copics.

The card base is standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The base is Chocolate Chip cardstock, topped by Riding Hood Red, Whisper White which I used the Scallop Edge punch on. Ski Slope DSP one top. I used the Photo corner punch to the top left with Baha Breeze and Whisper White cardstock topped with Antique Brass brads. I used the Small Oval punch to punch out the Choc. Chip cs, this was topped with Riding Hood Red punched 1/4" circles topped again with the Antique Brass brads.

The focal image is from the Winter Post set in the Holiday Mini, along with the Ski Slope DSP. I stamped the image with Basic Black onto Whisper White cs. Then I colored the image using my Aquapainter and ink pads. The image was then punched out using 1 3/4" circle punch. Mounted on Choc Chip cs and then four Riding Hood Red Scallop Squares. Then placed a square of Whisper White cs. I did not have any Old Olive ribbon, but I think it looks pretty good.

I'll be following this post with the next inspiration card and finally my creation.

Decor Elements

Well just in case ya'll think I've been home doing nothing I thought I would show you my Decor Elements which I put on our side door, which is the main door we use.

Now this is the Together Forever Circle Frame which is $11.95 and the Class Rr which is $3.95. I believe that is quite a bit of impact for $16. I have some more to put up and post a little later.
