Simply Scrappin' Kits

What fun I had see just how many 12x12 layouts I could make using the Simply Scrappin' kit "Round Up". Wow....these kits are a great deal. First you get 8 12x12 sheets of textured cardstock, 6 12x12 sheets of double sided paper (2 designs) and 6 6x12 sheets of self adhesive die cuts (3 designs). You can make 8 12x12 pages using just what is included in the kit with lots of leftover die cuts left over to make cards with. I added 4 extra sheets of 12x12 cardstock and still had left over die cuts. Enjoy the pics and contact your SU! demo to purchase a kit, check them out in the link to the catalog - pg 174-177.

I am not totally happy with all of these but I am pleased overall with the results. I have been working on the Secret Garden kit for a class and I really LOVE the layouts that I came up with for that kit. Of course the second time around is always better. I will post those pics after my class at the end of the month.

Oooppss. Wanted to post a scrap pic so you could see the leftovers. Some of the pages are sort of bare and I intend to go back and embellish them. Of course I will still have a lot of die cuts left over. As you can see two of the sheets are untouched.

Redone ATC

Well I knew this ATC needed some tweaking so I posted in the SplitCoast Stampers Demo area and quickly got some good advice.

I added a layer of Chocolate Chip and added a bit of twine, much better. Not quite so naked. :)

Another ATC

This ATC was made with the Burnished Watercolors technique in the August Technique Junkies newsletter. I used the Year after Year set, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard inks. Cardstock is Really Rust (textured) and Confetti White. Enjoy.

Something New

This is what I''ve been doing. Making Artist Trading Cards, these are so fun. I don't know why it took so long for me to take this small leap but I am so glad I did. I joined a monthly swap at Split Coast Stampers with other demos and I can't wait. The theme for August is Birthday. I used the too cute set Bugs & Kisses, Confetti White, Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa and Certainly Celery cardstock. With a smidge of Wild Wasabi stitched ribbon. I used my Stamp-a-majig to keep my little ones is a neat row. :)

Ooohh! That is the yummy textured Wild Wasabi cardstock in the background! :)

As promised!!!

Well we all made it safely home from vacation!! What fun!! We took the kids and grandkids too - ever vacation with a 1 year old?? No matter - she so cute you can't really be annoyed :) We had tons of fun and spent way too much, ate too much and got a little too much sun. Still we are happy to be home!!

These are the promised inspired projects. I made the scrapbook page first using a sketch. The card I made with the scraps.

I used the Petals & Paisley Designer Series paper as inspiration along with the new color combos using the new In Colors with existing colors. I used the color combo of Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. The Wild Wasabi as the base with the Pretty in Pink coming from the designer paper. And touches of Regal Rose and Close to Cocoa. If you look closely the scrapbook page has a couple of the new rhinestone brads anchoring the strip across the bottom of the page. The card has a piece of chipboard covered with paper, the ribbon was white grosgrain which I dyed with my ink pad.

This cool card was created by Elana Johnson using the Holidays & Wishes set, Paisley background, Blue Bayou, River Rock & More Mustard cardstock. And of course there is the Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Oooollllaaaaalllaaaaa!!! :)

This cute card was made by Toni Sizemore using the Perfect Presentation (hostess set), the See You Around wheel, Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink cardstock. Added touches with the gingham ribbon, brad and gel pen are the icing on the snowman! ;)

The picture doesn't do this card justice, this is Beth Weinstein's creation. She used the Baroque Motifs set, with Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, and Soft Sky designer paper for this card. The medallion is covered with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Pretty!!!

This cute card was made by Diane McCornack using the Zoofair set and the new In Colors Groovy Guava and Soft Sky. What a cute little guy!!

This beauty is the creation of Cecile Pryor, using the Year after Year set, and the new In Colors, PurelyPomegranate, Groovy Guava and Basic Black. Love the bright colors.

This little beauty is a creation of Yapha Mason using the Year after Year set, Hugs & Wishes set and the See You Around jumbo wheel. Nice!

This is Cierra Buchwald's creation using the new Pick a Petal set! Such fun you can make all sorts of flowers using the petals in this set.

Swap cards!!!! Aren't they beautiful? :)

These are the cards that I got in return in the swap I mentioned before. I have them pinned up to give me inspiration. I they did inspire a great scrapbook page that I'll post later. First I want to show you closeups of the cards that I have permission to share.

Sometimes the internet is NOT a good thing, why you ask? Well if not for the internet I wouldn't know that other demos across the states have rcvd their catties and I have not! :( Seriously it really makes the wait worse, agonizing even. On a more positive note my boxes are supposed to be here today! Yeah, watch for further posts. And listen for yelping for joy this evening ; )

Redone swap card

I just had an inspired moment after I sent my swap out and redid this card, totally love it now. I just wasn't feeling if ya know what I mean but now I just love it!!

This card uses the Zoofari set watercolored with the Aqua Painter and Blue Bayou ink. I love this little rhino! The background is the new Prints Designer Series paper in Soft Sky. The green is Wild Wasabi, the new In Colors are super! Such fun additions to our color families!

Swap Cards

This card uses Blue Bayou as the base with the swirl stamp from Baroque Motifs stamped in White Craft. Chocolate Chip layer with Soft Sky layered on top with the Baroque Motifs scroll in all its curvy glory!! :) I finished it off with the designer label punch, word from Baroque Motifs and some yummy grosgrain ribbon.
